The current situation with COVID-19 is in a constant state of change based on what we know, what scientists know, and what health officials recommend. Our top priority is that everyone is safe, healthy, and comfortable. This policy and information will be responsive to the information available from the CDC and WHO. Here is our current policy on COVID-19 precautions (check back on our webpage here for updates):

  • At minimum, we will adhere to the rules and guidelines determined by our venue, typically our partner theatre, Third Coast Comedy Club. No one who is ill or exhibiting symptoms should attend class.

  • We recommend that all of our participants are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to highest level of protection and stay home if symptomatic.

  • New variants may pose new threats, at various levels. We will stay responsive to these concerns and keep the health of our participants and teachers at highest priority. Unscripted will be monitoring COVID-19 levels based on the CDC's Community Level COVID-19 data tracker (found here).

  • Masks will always be welcomed in our classes.

  • Snack breaks (if applicable) will be taken outside or indoors with enough space to distance.

  • COVID-19 Policies and Procedures are subject to change

Camp Specific Policies

Students

If a student at camp exhibits symptoms during the day, that student will be moved to an isolated space and will remain under adult supervision until they can be picked up. Students must be tested in order to potentially return.

IF NEGATIVE:

Students will be permitted back to camp if symptoms have subsided and a negative test is produced.

IF POSITIVE:

If a student tests positive, all families will be notified.  It is recommended that all students at camp receive a COVID-19 test.

Students who test positive cannot return to camp in person (based on CDC recommended quarantine time). Staff will discuss Zoom-in possibilities, or crediting for future programs on an individual basis.

Family/Household Member

If a family/household member of a camper exhibits symptoms and is being tested, the camper must not attend camp. The camper must be quarantined until the results of the family/household member returns.

IF NEGATIVE:

Students will be permitted back to camp.

IF POSITIVE:

Students must be symptom-free and receive a negative PCR test to return, regardless of vaccination status. PCR test results must be sent to emma@unscriptedimprov.org
