GK Gurley

GK Gurley (they/them) is a life-long comedy nerd and a life-long empath and people pleaser, so Unscripted is essentially tailor-made for them. A founding member of Nashville’s first and only queer improv troupe called Carol, GK has always been passionate about the intersection of comedy both for fun and for community healing and growth. They are a social worker working in Autism therapies with a background in Montessori education, all of which focuses on the holistic health and development of a person, and that translates to their work in improv. Their queer, trans masc, non-binary identity certainly informs their improv style and the way they teach by breaking down gender roles and empowering each individual to speak their truths. They love that improv is sneaky— it’s so fun, while also teaching mindfulness and facilitating emotional connection and growth? What a great scam!
