Improv Club

Improv Club began in 2023 as a direct response to feedback from our Improv in Communities Tour. Unscripted teacher Rashad Donaldson saw the need for more BIPOC affirming improv spaces, and began hosting regular, recurring BIPOC centered jams. A grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission funded teacher and community investment to lay the foundation for a successful community offering.

Improv Club is open to anyone and free to attend. Now run independently by Rashad, follow Improv Club on Instagram for updates.

Improv in Libraries

Since 2020, Unscripted has worked with several libraries for a variety of programming. We’ve delivered direct improv workshops to youth and adult library patrons, and also provided several workshops for librarians and library staff.

Our ongoing partnership with the TN State Library and Archives has allowed us the opportunity to deliver keynote presentations and trainings to librarians from across the country. Previous programs have focused on building confidence in extemporaneous speaking, community building, and more.

Backlight Comedy Club

In Fall 2023, we had the pleasure to partner with Backlight Productions to teach improv for their Comedy Club students. Backlight Productions provides opportunities for adults with disabilities to gain education in the arts and perform significant roles in integrated performances, enabling them to enhance their social skills through artistic expression and grow in confidence both on and off the stage.
